Much of Allegany county has evidence of paranormal activity and Stormy Ridge Frightmare Farm has everything!  Since starting investigations in 2021 we have documented paranormal activity.  We are still early in our investigations and have not determined the type of haunting or paranormal activity.  We are still working to see what we can conclude.  

However, the following story is true and we are discovering clues to how the last several years of David Sherks life might have been on the property.  It was apparent that he had stashed or hidden knifes of all sorts on the property.  I uncovered over 20 kitchen and other knifes hidden in bricks, walls and near doorways and small peep holes in the barn.  He would hide in crawl spaces of the areas that he lived in.  His ways of life made it seem that he was scared or paranoid.  Since moving to the propery, he stopped having people over to buy his stuff and became secluded, working on collecting and sorting stuff.  He had over 11 tons of collected household items, garage sale item that were left ransacked from the police and other intruders after he died.  However,  according to the neighbors he only attemped to have a sale once.  So, why was he so scared and paranoid?  According to him, he had killed Flossy in 1985 and had remained a active community member in Angellica until he was evicted due to his house being condemned in 2000.  What changed when he moved to the Birdsall property that left him a recluse, hiding in corners with knives?  We can only speculate.  

Previous owner of property admits on his death bed to Killing Flossie Wilbur of Angelica, NY in 1985.  Body of missing woman never found.  David Sherk stated that he had murdered Flossie and buried her body, he stated that he had taken her to Allen Lake, other information stated that they searched Almond Damn, both are very close to the property in Birdsall.  The police searched for the body and never found her.  David died of brain cancer in 2020.

Addendum: 2025 Follow up investigation with recent Paranormal Investigative group suggests that David Sherk was paranoid about people finding the remains of Flossy and could have kept her hidden for some time.  Other suggestions of multiple murders have been revealed.  While looking at Davids' Facebook page he endorses a book titled "Killing in the name of Krishna".  This opens a new possibility of Multiple deaths at the hands of David Sherk.  

From the Author:  Michelle Case,  was at a local Angelica hang out and while speaking about David Sherk, Local residents that knew him or knew of him stated that, David was a very intelligent man and that in his prime he taught at Buffalo State College for some time.  Then his personality changed, almost suddenly, and he became part of the Krishna Religion and reclusive.  Some people think it was because of the religious affiliation that his personality changed.  Some say they don't know what happened.  I mentioned that he had a friend named Mario that was helping him financially for a while and after his death had wrote to me about some abuse allegations during Davids life.  Was it the abuse that he suffered that turned him into a murderer?  

Although the property could have witnessed the spiraling of a madman, there are also many layers of history that has been absorbed into the soil of this 5 acre plot of land.  Investigations revealed suggestions of civil war soldiers bloodied and looking for a hospital or possibly having a hospital camp in the area.   The barn has been used a refuge to many people traveling through the area, seeking shelter.  Some spirits never left.  

I continue to research and connect the pieces of the puzzle when it comes to the history of the area.   See you next year!
